Religion

The freedom of religion is guaranteed by the Constitution and respected by the government. There are good relations among various religious denominations.

Cape Verdeans are nominally of the Roman Catholic majority (over 90%). Other Christian denominations are also present in Cape Verde, including Protestants of the Church of the Nazarene and the Seventh-day Adventist Church, as well as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons), the Assembly of God, and other Pentecostal and Adventist groups. There are small Muslim and Bahá'í Faith minorities. The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God also has followers in Cape Verde.

The "rabelados" are a small specific traditionalist Catholic group in Cape Verde.

Although not a religion, the philosophical doctrine of Racionalismo Cristão, originating from Brazil, also has adherents in Cape Verde, especially in São Vicente.
